What's Lurking in the Shadows?

This Halloween, the most terrifying monster might be the one you can't see: your own leadership blind spot. It's that gap between how we think we lead and how our team actually experiences our leadership.

We all have them. It's part of being human. But when left unaddressed, these blind spots can be the silent killers of team morale and innovation.

Consider these "Ghosts n Goblins" of the Workplace:

The Ghost of Past Habits: Defaulting to old routines and ways of engaging, blinding us to new opportunities and the true needs of our team.

The Vampire of Monologue: Draining the energy from a room by talking past people instead of having a dialogue. This often happens because expressing ourselves releases reward hormones, making us feel great while our team feels rejected.

The Zombie of Complacency: Tolerating "good enough" performance instead of inspiring excellence, letting low standards infect the entire team culture.

This Halloween, take a moment for some "ruthless honesty" with yourself. Ask for feedback. Listen with compassion. And be willing to confront what's hiding in plain sight. Unmasking your blind spots is the first step to becoming the exceptional leader you want to be.

What are your thoughts on confronting these professional "Ghosts n Goblins"?
